Nestling in Blackford at the foot of the Ochil Hills in Perthshire, where the Highlands of Scotland begin, Tullibardine draws its water from the hills renowned for the crystal purity of their spring water; the same source as the bottled water Highland Spring and the first public brewery in Scotland from where King James IV purchased beer to celebrate his coronation in 1488. A year that is featured in the Tullibardine logo.  Tullibardine is available at the distillery and through a few selected retailers, marked with their production year; for example the ‘Tullibardine Vintage 1993’. Tullibardine also launch cask offers. In the warehouse you can find one of the oldest whisky casks in Scotland, filled in 1952.

The history of Tullibardine Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery
History of the distillery: The original brewery on site was converted into a distillery in 1947 by the Welshman William Delme Evans and Tullibardine began production in 1949. Four years later, due to ill health, it was taken over by Brodie Hepburn who ran the distillery until 1971 when it was sold to Invergordon Distillers. The annual output was 150 000 litres, the capacity was increased from two to four stills run by a staff of fifteen people. After several owners Tullibardine was mothballed by Whyte & Mackay in 1994. Revived in 2003 Tullibardine is privatly owned and run in a traditional way under the watchful eye of  Master Distiller John Black.
