Arran Distillery revived traditions in 1995. And what better place to choose. Today the Isle of Arran is very popular holiday destination, appreciated as a 'Scotland in Miniature', with beautiful high mountains and lowlands, glens, lochs and royal castles (including one near Arran Distillery in Lochranza bay). Arran Distillery takes pride in tradition and the fact that no peat are used calling their whisky a 'the true spirit of nature'.

Arran Distillery has released several bottlings, many with different finishes with cognac and Bordeaux casks. They have been granted life membership of the World Burns Federation and gain the right to use the name of Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Poet.

The history of Isle of Arran Single Malt Scotch Whisky Distillery
History of the distillery: Founded: 1995 by Harold Currie, a former Managing Director at Chivas. Once in a time there were more than 50 whisky distilleries on Arran, not many of them leagal and most of them carefully hidden from the eyes of the taxmen. The malt had a good reputation and rivalled those from the 'Glen of Livet'. The former advantage of isolation eventually grow to a problem with the added cost of transport and all of the distilleries soon perished.
