Website
Bunnahabhain (meaning 'mouth of the river') shares its
name with the village that emerged with it, beautifully situated along the
rugged shoreline facing the two peaks of the Isle of Jura.
Built to meet the demand of the blended industry in
the late 19th century, its remote location meant that the contractors had to
build housing for the workforce, a schoolroom, a pier and even a road south to
Port Askaig. In 1975 the first single malt from Bunnahabhain was launched,
today 95 % is enjoyed as blends, mostly Black Bottle and The Famous Grouse.
